Park(ing) Day – next Friday September 19th

PARK(ing) Day is a one-day, global event centered in San Francisco where artists, activists, and citizens collaborate to temporarily transform metered parking spots into “PARK(ing)” spaces: temporary public parks.

Join us as we team up with DeSantis Landscaping for “Park(ing) Day” downtown on Friday September 19th

As part of a national event, 18 parking spaces on Fifth Avenue between Washington and Alder will be transformed into “parks” to illustrate the need for more public parks and open spaces in cities.

The president of DeSantis Landscaping, Dean DeSantis, is a dear high school friend of mine who wanted to participate in the event so when we talked about it, we decided to participate together. Together, we will be sponsoring one of the 18 “parks”.

You can stroll through all 18 parks all day long and there is a party in the temporary “park” from 4pm – 8pm as well with music, a beer and wine garden, and a BBQ!

Drop by, see the amazing landscaping that Dean has planned and have a cupcake, too! We will be there off and on through the day and at the party giving away cupcakes while they last.

This event is a benefit for The Trust for Public Land. Stop by their site and see what great work they do! We love them and I think you will too!

See you at the “park”,
